Lorna Whiston: Infographics & Interactive Play Wall

Interaction / Spatial Design

Brief Overview

I designed and conceptualised the infographic wall, welcome wall mural and interactive play wall for Lorna Whiston while at Ingenious Design in 2017. The brief was to create an interactive space for the children at the reception area so that they can interact with the wall while waiting for their classes to begin.

Designing the Infographic Wall & Interactive Play Wall

The infographic wall at the reception shows the Lorna Whiston heritage and how they came to be. The purpose is to allow new parents / potential customers to read the history and act as a marketing tool for the centre. As an educational centre, I wanted the interactive play area to enrich the children and reflect their branding. The play wall allows for parents and children / children and friends to interact with one another. The play wall consisted of 4 aspects:

  1. Animal Garden
Users have to bring the animals to safety away from the lion.

  2. Letter Puzzle
Users get to move the pieces around and form as many words as they can using the available letter

  3. Maze
Bring the marbles around the maze

  4. Talking Pipe
Users can interact with one another via the blue pipes

Designing External Wall Mural

The second part of the project required me to design the external facing wall of the centre. The walkway leads to the toilet and footfall for this area is high. The location was perfect for showcasing the students of the centre and highlighting the strengths of the centre.
